In short

The World Gallery celebrates human creativity, imagination and adaptability, displaying over 3,000 objects from the Horniman Museum and Gardens international anthropology collection.

Project information
The World Gallery celebrates human creativity, imagination and adaptability, displaying over 3,000 objects from the Horniman Museum and Gardens international anthropology collection. From the outset, we worked closely with the team at the Horniman Museum and Gardens on the launch campaign, with the aim to showcase and draw attention to these weird and wonderful objects.

To coincide with the opening of the space, we created a print advertising campaign, which, like the new gallery, has looked to portray the “human” element through focusing on photography of objects featuring people.

We had a really lovely set of heads, faces and people, from objects as diverse as wedding figures to coffin lids. With this gallery being a celebration of human creativity, it felt right to have a strong human element fronting the campaign.

The campaign uses many of the existing branding elements of the Horniman Museum and Gardens, including the brand typeface Benton Sans and heavy use of black, and looks to “hero” some of the “amazingly weird and wonderful objects” that are showcased in the new space.
